Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is my favorite honey; it's on the spendy side, but the uses and benefits make it worth it!! Manuka Honey comes from bees in New Zealand that pollinate the native Manuka Bush.  So basically all honey contains different bioactive levels and while the average honey contains very low levels the manuka honey has high levels of bioactives (the more bioactive levels in the honey the more health and medical uses it will have (superior/high levels are considered anything with 10+)).

I have found both external and internal uses for this honey and since I use it for so many different reasons the cost is easily worth it to me!  I use it as a face mask or I'll take a spoonful with cinnamon or add it to my greek yogurt, It even works for sore throats! I also give my husband a spoonful every morning for extra energy!

Here are some of the Manuka honey benefits:
  • Supports digestive system
  • Enhancing energy and health
  • Building Immunity
  • Skin uses such as acne and eczema
  • Anti Inflammatory
  • Cold / Sore throat
If you are still unsure what the difference is between this and normal honey then check out this website http://www.manukahoneybenefit.com for more info!

I'd love to know your thoughts on this, have you tried it or will you?  What else have you used honey for?

Xo,
Kelly

  1. I also use honey in a protein hair mask with whole milk, egg yolk, and coconut oil. It makes your hair super shiny!

  2. My favorite use for honey is in warm milk with a little olive oil and a cinnamon stick. It's a totally natural and non-addicting way to induce sleep. My friend got the idea from her host mom when she was studying abroad in Italy!
